Shortly after ten 0'clock last night the suspect in a triple homicide and the cause of an AMBER alert was taken into police custody after surrendering to police following a multi-state search.

Matthew Slocum, 23, was labeled a suspect by police following an early morning fire in White Creek, NY where three people were found dead. The victims are the suspects mother, stepfather, and their son. The Washington County Sheriff's Department activated the New York State AMBER Alert System after Slocum took off with his girlfriend and four month child.

Earlier in the evening the car included in the AMBER Alert was found in New Hampshire where the suspect later turned himself in.

Slocum faced a judge in Keene, NH on charges of being a fugitive and agreed to be transported back to New York State for questioning.
