Man Wants to Use A Woman’s Phone But Steals Money From Her

A man from Troy went to an 84-year-old woman’s home in Brunswick. He asked if he could use her phone, but he wasn’t calling someone because his car broke down.

This happened on Monday night.

In a story from the Times Union, 60-year-old Michael P. Dongelewic did get into her home and then threatened to hurt her if she didn’t give him money. This was a man that the woman knew from work. He left her house with an unknown amount of cash.

Dongelewic was caught by New York State Police, and charged with second degree burglary and third degree robbery. He was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail. The poor woman knew this guy, and she was probably just trying to be nice to him, and the jerk robbed her.
