A Rensselaer man will be heading to the Schaghticoke Town Court at a future date, after he was arrested for allegedly stealing an electric meter and electrical power for his home, from National Grid.

It was reported to authorities that 51-year-old Stephen Erickson allegedly obtained an electric power meter which was stolen from National Grid, hooked up the meter and tapped into the electric service, and began to receive electrical power at his home.

Erickson was arraigned in Brunswick Town Court, and was charged for various misdemeanor charges along with Felony Grand Larceny. There was also allegedly another legal issue for Erickson.

According to the story from News 10 ABC, he was previously in trouble with the law because he also allegedly had an outstanding bench warrant. After his appearance in Brunswick Town Court, he was the turned over to the New York State Police in Massena, because of the warrant.
