Larry Johnson is a black Santa impersonator from Dallas, Texas.  He was the only black Santa attending a Santa convention in Branson over the summer when the guy who hires the mall Santa for the Mall of America just happened to be in the market for, you guessed it, a black Santa Claus.  There were over 1,000 Santa's at the convention!  And, even more surprising, maybe... There's a Santa convention!?!?

His name is Landon Luther and he's the co-owner of the Santa Experience at the Mall of America and he says,

"Santa should be for everyone, period."

Jefferson said in an interview that playing the jolly old elf is "no big deal" to him, saying "I'm still Santa, I just happen to be a Santa of color."

I mean, just because the story books usually portray Santa as a jolly, old, white guy... maybe it's time to open up our perception a little bit!
