Sad news in the Pro Wrestling and Sports world as one of the most popular wrestlers of all time "Macho Man" Randy Savage has passed away at the age of 58.

According to TMZ, who broke the story, Savage (real name Randy Poffo) was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler earlier this morning when he veered across a concrete median through oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tree. Savage was then transported to a local medical center where he was pronounced dead.

Savage's wife Lynn was also in the vehicle but only suffered mild injuries.

As a major pro wrestling fan I am truly saddened by this. I was a big Macho Man fan growing up and I still go around saying his catchphrase "OOOOOOOOOOH YEAH, DIG IT" from time to time!

In my honest opinion, he was part of the greatest Wrestlemania match ever with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3 in 1987

and he did the best interviews in the business, it doesn't get any better than this!

Here's another great interview from a great feud with Jake Roberts:

Many wrestlers have expressed their feelings as well via twitter:

John Cena: "CeNation. The untimely passing of Randy Savage is indeed tragic. All true fans of wrestling will mourn this loss. One of the all time greats."

Steve Corino: Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat at WM3 is still 1 of my favorite matches ever. I was 14 & though I "hated" Savage, I never booed him again

Hulk Hogan: I'm completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we've finally started to talk and communicate. HH He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him. HH We miss him a lot. I feel horrible about the ten years of having no communication. This was a tough one. HH

The Rock: RIP Randy "Macho Man" Savage - you were one of my childhood inspirations and heros. Strength, love and prayers to the Savage/Poffo family. Today Team Bring It will celebrate a life - we will kick ass and chase greatness #OOHHYEEEAAAHHH style!

Kevin Nash: I lost a close friend today. If anybody in heaven is wondering who the cat in the ugly cowboy hat is it's Randy. Love you Bro. Never another

As for me, he will always be a childhood hero and a great sports entertainer. Rest in Peace Macho Man!! You will be missed!!
