Last week, we had the pleasure of speaking to a professor of Microbiology at SUNY Adirondack, Holly Ahern.

Though our conversation was extremely informative, it was almost frightening at the same time. Ahern believes that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is vastly under-reporting  cases of Lyme Disease throughout the country. This is largely due to the fact that blood-born illnesses can lie dormant and be almost undetectable.

Ahern also pointed out the scary reality that the way the medical community views Lyme Disease has not changed since 1977. Even more frightening, donated blood has never been tested for Lyme Disease.

We discuss what Congress is doing to help bring awareness to prevention as well as some of the myths surrounding Lyme Disease.
