Luke Bryan was determined not to waste the extra 24 hours he got this year thanks to Leap Year, so he teamed up with Chevy for the campaign #DayItForward, which encourages people to use those bonus hours to do something nice for someone. Bryan chose to thank the firemen in Franklin, Tenn., for their service.

"We pick people that work hard to look after us and we're going to do something nice for them. I've got lunch, and I'm taking it to Fire Station No. 2 right here in Franklin, Tennessee,” Bryan explains in the video above.

Bryan brought a ton of food to the team in Franklin, just outside of Nashville, then stayed to hang out, eat and sign CDs. One of the guys in the station recently helped save someone’s life, and Bryan made sure to give him credit for it, even though the fireman was bashful about being a hero. The country fan shared that he connected with Bryan on hunting, swapping stories with him, calling the experience “some memories to go a lifetime with."

“To get to know the guys on a personal level, today’s been great,” Bryan shares.

The firefighters even let Bryan test out one of their suits, but not without ribbing him a bit about which pieces go where. Though he needed help getting the uniform on, he pulled the look off; his female fans may hope he kept it.

Bryan is currently on his Kill the Lights Tour, and his album by the same name recently went platinum. He’s slated to host the ACM Awards in April with Dierks Bentley.
