Lou’s Six Favorite Pizza Chain Restaurants

I told you what my favorite kinds of pizzas were, as far as toppings. Thursday is WGNA’s Pizza Wars 2012.

Pizza Wars 2012 is all local pizza places, and you’ll get to crown the champ for the Albany area. So, I thought I’d give you a list of my favorite pizza chain restaurants. I know almost everyone has their favorite or maybe not so enjoyable. But you have to admit that if you go to one of them, you know they’ll be consistent and you know what to expect. They’re usually pretty good and convenient when you’re not near any of the great local places.

6) Domino’s

Because of Domino’s I got to try the lasagna pizza. One of my favorites.

5) Sbarro

Another place for finding tasty pizza. There’s one in a lot of Albany area malls.

4) Cici’s

They recently opened up in Wolf Road Shopper’s Park. It’s very affordable, too.

3) Pizza Hut

I know there’ll be someone that disagrees with me about this one. I still love their pizza. I try to hit around lunch time to get the buffet. The buffet’s not that big, but it’s sufficient when you’re in a hurry.

2) papa john’s

They left the area for awhile, and then started popping up around town, again. That made me happy.

1) Uno Chicago Grill

My favorite pizza is their Chef’s Choice. A personal pan pizza with three toppings.

A few of these places have full menus, so their perfect if you’re going out for lunch or dinner, and your friend doesn’t want pizza. These are just some personal choices. Keep in mind that most national pizza places started out as local shops.

Now you can vote for your favorite local pizza place at pizza Wars 2012, Thursday night between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at either The Albany Holiday Inn, on Wolf Road, or at Proctor’s in Schenectady. So what is your favorite pizza place when it comes to a chain restaurant?
