There are certain things I like to watch every year for Christmas. In general, there really aren’t too many tv shows or movies that I want to stop whatever I’m doing and take time to watch, but this list of my favorites are the ones I will take time out and make sure I see every year. Some of them, I watched as a kid, and still watch them today.

5) A Charlie Brown Christmas

I’ve gotten a few Christmas trees and called them a “Charlie Brown” tree. They were a little sparse, although they didn’t loose too many more needles.

4) Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph was bullied, but he came back as a hero. The land of misfit toys tends to make me angry. When I was a kid, I would’ve loved to have some of those toys, and I also think of the number of kids that don’t get much for Christmas. I’ll bet they would love to have those toys.

3) Charles Dickens – “A Christmas Carol”

There have been a few different versions of this, but I always enjoy some of the older versions. We’ve all known some Scrooges in our lives, and some of us have been a Scrooge at one time or another. It makes you realize that we’re only here for a little while.

2) A Christmas Story

I had a friend that used to say that we needed to watch Red Ryder BB Gun. I had no clue what that was. Then I watched “A Christmas Story.” I was hooked. We’ll always remember that famous line – “You’ll shoot your eye out.” Even Santa Clause told Ralphie that.

1) It’s A Wonderful Life

Showing what would happen if George Bailey (who is played by James Stewart) wasn’t born. Even the federal agent helped George at the end of the story. Supposedly, this is the movie that they got names for two Sesame Street Characters – Bert and Ernie.

Christmas and holiday movies and tv shows can seem a little dated, but they’ll always be my favorites. What are some of your favorites?
