The 2013 Adirondack Balloon Festival is going on. It started at Crandall Park in Glens Falls on Thursday night, September 19, 2013. For most of the weekend everything happens at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury.

In a story from News 10 ABC, you’ll see hundreds of different shaped hot air balloons. I went a few times in the past, and it’s quite an adventure. Besides the balloons, there are plenty of vendors for you to walk around visit and some other activities.

I went to the festival a couple of times with my son, Jayson, and it was a lot of fun. We brought kites, which was something else that you can with your family. Because we went on a Sunday, we didn’t get to see was the ‘Lighting Up The Night’. That’s something that’s done on Saturday evening about 5:00 p.m.

Everything ends on Sunday, September 22, 2013 back at Crandall Park in Glens Falls when about 20 balloons will be launched.

The festival is run by volunteers and is a non-prophet organization. I’m not sure if I’ll get a chance to get there this year. Hopefully the weather will not be too bad for them.
