1993- In an unexpected event, Lyle Lovett marries Julia Roberts, after a whirlwind romance that began during filming of the movie "The Player."

1949- While fans enjoy summer vacations, singers are preparing their holiday catalogs.  It was on this summer date that Gene Autry records 'Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer.'  One of only three Christmas songs to ever top the Billboard Country Music charts. The others included 'Blue Christmas' from Ernest Tubb and 'If We Make It Through December' by Merle Haggard.

Lorrie Morgan, 1959.  Born in Nashville, a day before her father George Morgan's 35th birthday.  Hits include 'Something In Red,' 'Five Minutes' and 'What Part Of No.'

1913- Elton Britt.  '40s Country Music star and yodeler, scores hits with 'Chime Bells' and 'Someday.'  Elton dies in 1972.
