Known for it's general crazy fun and tomfoolery, this popular party day on Lake George is no more in response to the recent trial.

Log Bay Day, for those unfamiliar, is a general party day when people bring their boats together on Lake George and just celebrate being together & the beautiful weather, usually with copious amounts of alcohol. The unofficial "holiday" of Log Bay Day has always been under scrutiny with the Warren County Police Department because of safety concerns.

Following the crash last year, according to News10 ABC, Warren County Sheriff Bud York had pushed harder to stop it. On Monday, Alex West was convicted on 8 of the 12 counts against him and faces 7 to 22 years in prison when sentenced.

The crash allegedly occurred after West and the others on the boat had been to Log Bay Day and then drove the boat under the influence. It scares me to think that just because "Log Bay Day" is over, that the party won't continue on another day in another bay but Log Bay Day as it is known is over. Was that the right decision?
