I don't have any kids and apparently, this wasn't something my Mom did for my baby book but one local woman needed help from the Capital Region to fill-in some baby book blanks.

Someone posted to the Albany Reddit page that they recently had a baby on Monday, November 26th. In order to complete her baby book, she needed to know some prices to add to the book. I feel like I can safely assume that these are when the baby looks back and sees how cheap things used to be when they were born. She specifically asked for: "Prices of the following on 11/26 (please specify location) Bottle of water Gallon of milk Gallon of gas Movie ticket (regal and Spectrum 7 would be great) Pack of diapers Cup of coffee."

Thankfully, some nice local Redditors answered her questions and she could complete that page. Then, it got me curious. My birthday is in a few weeks and I wanted to know the different prices things were in 1988 (the year I was born) versus what people told this woman for her baby.

Gallon of Milk: $3.72 at Stewarts (2018)/ $2.30 (1988)

Gallon of Gas: $2.59 (2018)/ $1.08 (1988)

Movie Ticket: $12.50 at Colonie Center (2018)/ $4.11 (1988)

Cup of Coffee: About $2.10 at Starbucks (2018)/ .41 cents (1988)

Pack of Diapers: $8 for pack of 24 Huggies Overnites diapers (2018)/ $8 pack of Huggies 24 diapers (1988)
