As I'm writing this, there is still snow on the ground, but the local racing season here in the Northeast is not too far away.  One sign is when the race car shows come to town.

This weekend the Middletown Motorsports Show is being held at the Orange County Fair Speedway Arena.  Local driver and Fonda Speedway champion, Bobby Varin, will be on hand for all three days of the show.  Then next weekend, one of Bobby's weekly home tracks will hold its annual race car show as Fonda Speedway presents the Rotterdam Square Mall Car Show.

Car shows are a lot of fun.  Seeing the new race cars all shined-up and ready to go, really gets the blood flowing.  Talking to the drivers about their plans for the coming season is part of the fun.  And visiting with fellow fans isn't a bad way to pass the time while hoping the snow is melting outside.  The first race of the local season is just a few weeks away and we need things to dry up outside so the track crews can make their preparations in time for the Spring and Summer racing season.

But why wait for Spring and Summer when you can see the race cars now?
