A Cambridge-Greenwich Police officer’s home was destroyed by a fire on Thursday, and now the people of the community are pulling together to help him and his family out.

When the fire broke out, Officer Lance Barber was at work. None of is family members were home at the time - his 4-year-old son, mother and brother. The family lost all of their belongings in the fire. Sadly, they also lost their family dog in the fire.

One of his neighbor’s daughter is also helping out, along with her Girl Scout troop. Other community members have dropped off things like clothing and toys for Barber’s family at the Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department.

There are a few ways that anyone can help out Officer Barber’s family. You can drop off donations at the Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department. They’re located at 56 North Park Street in Cambridge or in the village of Greenwich, at 6 Academy Street. According to the story from News 10 ABC, donations in the name of Lance Barber, can be made at any branch of the Glens Falls National Bank. For a PayPal account that has been set up online.
