Back in August a community was devastated by the loss of 16-year old Morgan Bowers who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train while walking along the tracks. Two months later, as we approach Halloween a local family is doing something special for those she left behind.

The Rechnitzer family has an annual tradition that started out for their own family and friends and has turned into something that helps so many. Over the course of 20 years, the family has turned their home and surroundings into a spooktacular haunted attraction. After someone suggested they charge admission into their creation, they decided to give the profits to local charities which has allowed them to donate thousands each year. This year, the money raised will go to the family of Morgan Bowers as well as a choral scholarship set up in Morgans name at Scotia-Glenville High School.
