Whiskey City

The outdoor block party at Countryfest is truly a win-win.  You, the listener,  gets to hear local and up and coming national artists for free, and we at 'GNA get the chance to give more local musicians the chance to show their talents to YOU.  Here's a new addition for us-- WHISKEY CITY.

They're a group that hails from the Berkshires, Whiskey City. They also have quite the track record and impressive fan base.  I happened to see them play at a pre-Countryfest party at Halpin's Grub and Grog in Lenox.  Do you know remember that Maxell commercial where the guy is in his chair and gets blown backwards from the sound?  Well that was me at Halpin's when I heard these guys, although it wasn't the sound that blew me backwards as much as the awesome energy they had on stage.  Don't miss them!

This is their new CD, by the way.  I'm sure they'll have some available for you!  And there's more in store...

Shooting Music Video during Live Performance

Pittsfield, MA – Berkshires based Whiskey City, voted the region’s best live band in the Berkshire Eagle’s 2012 readers’ poll, will open the free portion of Country Fest 2012 this Saturday, July 7, at 12:00 p.m. on Pearl Street outside the Times-Union Center in Albany, NY.  Whiskey City released its first album, Concrete Rodeo, in August 2011, and the band will be filming a music video for their hit song “Love You Like Crazy” during Saturday’s performance.

This will be the first Country Fest performance for the band, which formed in 2010 and has enjoyed tremendous success touring the Berkshires over the past two and a half years.  Led by Pittsfield native Randy Cormier, formerly of Xavier, Whiskey City plays high energy modern country rock and boasts an extensive catalogue of covers and original hits.

Whiskey City has made a strong commitment to philanthropic endeavors since they formed the band in 2010, performing at nearly twenty charity events over the last two years.  Recently the band performed at O’Laughlin’s Pittsfield, MA to help raise money for Team Jacob who was participating in the Relay for Life Event. They will also be playing in the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade on the WBEC 95.5 float for the second year in a row.

Country Fest 2012 attendees and the public are encouraged to come down to the Pearl Street stage before 12:00 to be featured in the video. The video is being co-produced by Strapt Cat Productions in conjunction with AD Worldwide
