It's Friday! The end of another week is upon us, so once again it's time to bring back a great memory with this week's edition of Flashback Friday. Today is Lionel Cartwright's birthday so I thought it would be fitting to feature one of his big hits from the 90's. We go back to 1991 for Lionel's only #1 hit, "Leap Of Faith".

From Lionel's 1991 album "Chasin' The Sun", "Leap of Faith" was released in June of that year and reached the top of the Billboard Country Charts in September. It was the only #1 hit of Lionel's career, but he did have a few other Top 10 singles including "Give Me His Last Chance", "I Watched It All On My Radio", and "My Heart Is Set On You".

"Leap Of Faith" would end up being Lionel's last big hit and the following year would leave his record label MCA. He would go on to compose theme songs for tv shows such as Capital District native Rachael Ray's 30 Minute meals. These days he is the worship pastor for the Hope Park Community Church In Nashville, TN.
