It's the end of another week and for some a three day weekend. Time to break out another great country song and video from the past with this week's edition of Flashback Friday.

This week we announced the lineup for CountryFest 2012, which got me thinking about shows of the past. Today I feature an artist from the very first CountryFest in 1994, Lee Roy Parnell and his big hit "Tender Moment".

From his second album, 1992's "Love Without Mercy", This was the fourth single released in February of 1993. It was the 3rd in a string of numerous top 10 hits peaking at #2 after spending 20 weeks on the Billboard Country charts.

The following year Lee Roy would be part of the very first CountryFest with Travis Tritt, Joe Diffie and others. If memory serves me correct,he rocked the stage so hard that he actually blew a few of his amps while rocking out on his guitar.

These days Lee Roy is still writing songs and playing shows here and there. He also is a partner is a music publishing company called Dean Parnell Music and acts as a record producer as well.
