Latham Sub Shop To Close This Weekend

A Latham sandwich shop will close it's doors for good this Sunday.

Firehouse Subs, located on Route 9 near Latham Farms will be closing this Sunday, December 23rd according to a Times Union report. Owner Ashley Deeb told the Times Union the sub spot "...has not been profitable, and it was located in a "saturated" area with several other sandwich shops nearby, like Subway, Jersey Mike's and Mr. Subb." Deeb's franchise is the only Firehouse Subs in the Albany Area.

Owning a sub shop here in the Capital Region you have to imagine is a tough go with all the chain locations Deeb mentioned, plus all the great local deli's and sandwich shops to contend with.

The Times Union did speak with a Firehouse Subs representative who relayed the chain would love to open another Capital Region restaurant, but as of right now nothing is in the works.
