There are so many great novelty songs for this time of year.  We could go way back and start with Spike Jones, but why go back that far?  How bout good old Larry The Cable Guy?

We remember Larry from when he first started in this crazy business. He used to call in to radio stations and do this character voice called "Larry The Cable Guy".  He was extremely funny, but  good luck making it big on the basis of one "shtick", huh?  (guess he showed us!)

TV personality, movie star, concert attraction (he's sold out multiple nights here in Albany).  The guy has done it all.  According to Wikipedia:

Comedy Central Roast of Larry The Cable Guy

Larry the Cable Guy has released seven comedy albums, of which three have been certified gold by the RIAA for shipments of 500,000 copies. In addition, he has starred in three Blue Collar Comedy Tour-related movies, as well as in the films Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, Delta Farce, and Witless Protection. He has also provided the voice of Mater in the Disney/Pixar films Cars and Cars 2. His catchphrase, Git-R-Done!, is the title of his book.

Quite the resume!  Whenever I go to his shows, I end up almost needing to be revived.  I'm usually  gasping for air by the intermission.  And when he does his versions of classic christmas carols- he only has to sing one verse and he has me rolling.  Here's an example:

So we are putting Dan Whitney (I mean Larry) way up there on the list of great novelty songwriters here at the Sean and Richie Show.

(we've actually had him on the show a couple of times!  Here's one interview we did)
