Lady Antebellum Back at No. 1 & More in Casey’s Taste of Country
Lady Antebellum is back at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart this week with their Own The Night album. The group of course received the news following their seventh career Grammy award last Sunday for “Best Country Album.” The album has been in the top spot for a total of 10 weeks since its release in Sept. 2011. Charles Kelly says their latest song, “Dancing Away With My Heart” is one of the best on the album.
Blake Shelton has admitted to what could be the worst kept secret? He has a drink when he gets ‘nervous’. That has been happening frequently as he headlines his ‘Well Lit and Amplified’ tour. Blake made the declaration on a recent tour stop. According to a human resources coordinator for Goodwill industries, Blake has been pacing himself betwen drinks to provide 19 songs during his tour.
George Strait made a rare acoustic appearance on the stage of the historic Ryman auditorium during the CRS yesterday. The “king of country” says he still has 3 more years or so left in him, but wants to make sure that radio knows he will always remember what radio and the fans have done to support his career, even after he retires. George received honors for his recent single, “Here for a Good Time.” He was given a plaque for single going No. 1 on the Mediabase chart.
Last week I mentioned that “The Voice” has already decided on a third season hitting our televisions this fall versus next spring. Well auditions for the show are beginning March 3rd. Auditions will be held in Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York City. New York City will host auditions the weekend of March 10th and 11th. Details on how to apply can be found at their website.
