The Headlines:

1981- Country Music Movie songs dominate the Grammy Awards.  The songs on the soundtrack to "Urban Cowboy" grab four nominations.  The movie "Roadie" gets three song nominations, and "Honeysuckle Rose"  featuring Willie Nelson rounds up two nods. Sissy Spacek gets a nomination for her performance as Loretta Lynn in "Coal Miner's Daughter."

1968- Johnny Cash records the live album "Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison" in California with his touring family of June Carter, The Carter Family, Carl Perkins and The Statler Brothers.  The album features the remake of "Folsom Prison Blues."  The original version was recorded at Sun studios in 1956.

Birthdays:

Trace Adkins, 1962.  In 1996, he breaks through with "There's A Girl In Texas" and "Every Light In The House Is On."  Then, goes to number one with "This Ain't No Thinking Thing" and scores a smash club hit and platinum ring tone with "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk."  Trace also appears on Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC with a second place finish.
