2003- Kenny Chesney headlines his first stadium show, playing for 61,000 fans in Knoxville, Tennessee. Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, The Warren Brothers and Deana Carter are also on the bill.

1997- Tim McGraw and Faith Hill land at No. 1 with ‘It’s Your Love.’

1969- ABC airs the first episode of the Johnny Cash television show. Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Doug Kershaw are the first guests.

1957- Don Gibson writes two Country Classics in the same afternoon. ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’ and ‘Oh Lonesome Me’ are written at his trailer park home in East Tennessee.
