Sure, Kelleigh Bannen is a newcomer, but she’s proven that she’s ready to make an impact on country music. ‘Sorry on the Rocks,’ the new single from the determined EMI Nashville signee, made no apologies as it took down the Lost Trailers in yesterday’s Taste of Country Showdown. Today and tonight, Bannen and her song will attempt victory against D. Vincent Williams here and on Taste of Country Nights radio.

Williams’ ‘Down by the River’ has a much different flavor than Bannen’s debut single — one that will be pleasing to a different breed of country music fans’ ears. While ‘Sorry on the Rocks’ will have you belting lyrics into the steering wheel as you speed down a dirt road, ‘Down by the River’ will undoubtedly send you into a two-steppin frenzy, quick onto the floor of the nearest dance hall, just trying to keep up with the speed of the upbeat tune (and Williams’ fast harmonies).

Listen to clips of both Bannen’s and Williams’ songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour online, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. Hear the full versions of the songs tonight after 10PM on Taste of Country Nights, and vote again by calling (888) 678-9995. You can listen to the show online through any of the 33 radio stations that carry it. Voting will end tonight at 10:40PM CT.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour. If a song wins five days in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
