This isn’t funny. This is all about suicide. But it is definitely ironic, isn’t it? We talk about irony all the time on the Sean and Richie Show. I’m sure we’ll be talking about this as well. The man who wrote “You Light Up My Life” is no longer alive! I really don’t want to go into the sordid details, but Joseph Brooks committed suicide, according to People.com. Brooks was a a jingle writer according to the article and also wrote the song in 1977.
“You Light Up My Life” won him an Oscar, a Grammy and a spot on the pop charts..
The song was sung (and sung and sung) by Debbie Boone, the daughter of singer Pat Boone, for all you youngsters out there, and became a movie of the same name as well.

I guess Mr Brooks was up on 82 charges of abuse. We’ll leave it at that. Also his son Nicholas was on trial for allegedly killing his girlfriend! Thus he took his life tonite. Again, very ironic considering he wrote such an uplifting song.
It made me think about other ironic deaths in history, and only Google could find me an Ironic Death website, in case you’d like to get a weird chuckle at a time like this. (The guy who invented the Segway died on a Segway? – just one example) OK, enough of this. Just thought you should know. Have a nice day.
