Stewart is taking the leave to direct his first movie and get this it's not a Comedy. It's based on a memoir called "Then They Came for Me: A Family's Story of Love, Captivity and Survival". It's the story of an BBC reporter named Maziar Bahari who was captured and tortured for 118 days back in 2009 while covering a protest of the Iranian election.

Stewart wrote the screen play for the movie which is titled "Rosewater". The Daily Show was actually part of the story. While Bahari was captive an episode featuring him aired and the Iranians used it against him.

In Stewart's absence John Oliver will do 8 weeks of original shows and there will be 4 weeks of reruns.
