Joe Nichols has starred at WGNA's Countryfest and Secret Star Acoustic Jam and is headed to Kansas today for a NASCAR pre-race concert.

After performing last night in Oklahoma, Nichols heads to Kansas Speedway today for a concert before the Hollywood Casino 400. Nichols, who is riding a wave of recent success including his current release "Hard To Be Cool" along with recent hits “Yeah” and “Sunny and 75.” He released his latest studio album "Crickets" in October of last year.

Nichols is a busy performer who is currently touring through the fall. He is also a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and must be excited with the Cardinals in the playoffs again this year. Nichols stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio earlier this year to chat with host Sam Alex about how he stays on top of the games while playing a show.

Nichols has had many hits, like chart toppers “Brokenheartsville,” “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and “Gimme That Girl” along with top ten hits like “The Impossible,” “What’s A Guy Gotta Do” and “I’ll Wait For You.” Over his career, he has new artist awards from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, Billboard and more. He also has four Grammy nominations, a CMA album of the Year nomination and multiple RIAA platinum and gold albums and singles.
