The Massachusetts native's team announced on her Facebook page today she has been diagnosed with Cancer.

It is tough anytime you know someone is diagnosed with Cancer, and Jo Dee's diagnosis hits especially close to home as she is a member of our Country music family and from the region. Jo Dee was born in Framingham, Massachusetts and grew up in Holliston, outside of Boston.

While Jo Dee's team announced on her Facebook page earlier today she has been diagnosed with Cancer, they did not provide specifics on what type it is or how serious. They did reveal she will be cancelling all of her tour dates after October 7th to go into treatment. According to the post, she has continued to record through her ordeal and is channeling her battle info to some powerful moments in song.

When I first got in to Country music, Jo Dee was a big rising star with hits like 'Lesson In Leavin,' 'That's the Way,' 'Stand Beside Me' and more. I actually got to meet her several times over the years, and she was always an absolute pleasure to spend time with. She always came across as a strong spirited and strong willed person, which will serve her well as she fights this terrible disease. Let's keep Jo Dee in our thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery!
