Many Americans could be owed nearly twelve hundred dollars, but because of phone scams, they don't believe it. The only way this company can pay it out is by getting a hold of these people by phone. Here's how you can find out if you are owed this chunk of change. According to an article at simplemost.com, Dish Network lost a class action law suit and owes more than eighteen thousand people money for violations that incurred over the National Do Not Call Registry law. This is sort of ironic considering that in order for you to collect, you have to accept a call from them.

The suit claimed that Dish Network knowingly called people that were on the do-not-call list between May 11, 2010 and August 1, 2011. The court ruled against Dish Network and ordered them to pay out a $61.3 million.

When a lawyer representing consumers in the lawsuit have tried to reach out to to tell them they are owed up to $1200, they think it's a scam and immediately hang up. The representative says that 70% of those they have reached out to have hung up on them.
