It’s Been Nine Years Since We Lost Johnny Cash [VIDEO]

YouTube.com

It was nine years ago today “The Man in Black” lost his battle with diabetes. The first ever Country artist I sang along with and knew was cool even before I loved country passed away at 71.

To this day if “Folsom Prison Blues” comes on I will stop what I am doing and sing along.

I was working on a rock station when a bunch of kids found out what I already knew, Johnny Cash ROCKED! He covered Nine Inch Nail’s song “Hurt” and if I’m being honest a man in his late 60′s did it better then they did.

Before that he took Soundgarden’s “Rusty Cage” and out did them.

The reason I focused on his rock covers is because before I ever knew Country music would one day be my favorite this man in black was something even my dad and I could agree on. Johnny Cash is a legend! No matter what the song that man could own it. I bet he could of covered Eminem and made it country. Rest in Peace Mr. Cash and thank you for all the amazing music.
