Where does the Empire State rank among Wallethub's most and least educated states?

In Wallethub's latest study on what determines a 'well-educated population'  New York ranked a respectable 13th on their list of the most educated states. How did we end up at 13?

Wallethub based the study on the following factors:

  • Educational attainment
  • School quality
  • Achievement gaps between genders and races

An area where New York ranked really high in the breakdowns of the study is the highest percentage of graduate or professional degree holders where we land at #5.

Overall, the article says 'College opens doors to better career opportunities, higher earnings and new social connections, among other benefits.' Coming in at #13, it seems New York is a good place to be when it comes to higher education and advancing your career.

Or in the words of Casey Affleck in Good Will Hunting, we're 'Wicked Smaht.'
