Is My Friend A “Mooch” Or Just Clueless? – Daily Dilemma

Here is Today's Daily Dilemma:

My sister and I have a friend who has recently moved to town. She was always invited to do stuff with us until we started to notice a pattern. She's a mooch! When anyone gets invited for dinner normally people bring a bottle of wine, an appetizer, something. This friend always shows up empty handed. We let it slide when it was us but our friends recently invited her over and she showed up empty handed when everyone else brought wine/beer. It's gotten to the point where we don't invite her bc it's embarrassing but we don't know what or how to address it. Help please.
