Is A Debt Consolidation Company The Answer? – Daily Dilemma [AUDIO]

I guess one of the things I like about the "Daily Dilemma" on the Sean and Richie Show is that it can be about anything. Really, it's just anything that is bothering you at the moment, or something you just wonder about what other people think. Today's was about finance.

Our listener wrote:

"I have a lot of credit card debt and while I’m in no worse of a situation than many other people, I just feel like I can’t get ahead. I’ve heard and seen commercials about consolidating my debt through a consolidation company and I’ve also pondered taking out a loan from a bank to try and get a lower interest and pay the debt off. I guess I’m just really embarrassed that I live outside of my means and I’m afraid of the consequences. Are those consolidations companies for real? Is it better to go through them than an accredited financial institution? "Has anyone gone through a similar situation?"
