Hurricane Irene chugs our way, the rain bands are intense. New York  City is now on the edge and the rain has begun.

WGNA Country 107.7 is monitoring closely. We will be reporting on conditions in our are throughout Sunday. Please make sure you are prepared. We are expecting very heavy rains here. It is looking like 5am is the time the heavy rains will begin for the Capital Region.

On top of the rain that is setting in on New York City a wide area covering New Jersey and New York City are now under tornado warning which are a nasty possible side effect of a hurricane with all of the atmospheric instability. To check on the latest in New York City you can go to www.nyc.org
