The first Ice Cream hot spot we covered was Guptill's Coney Express. This time we're heading up the Northway to a real "legendary" ice cream location. When you are seeing the mountains get taller and get close to Lake George you have to make sure you hit Martha's Dandy Creme on Route 9 in Queensbury. It sits almost directly across the street from the Great Escape. Just get off Exit 20 North or South. You'll know Martha's when you see it because the famous giant Rooster is out front. The property where

Martha's sits was a chicken farm before the ice cream shop was set up and they kept the rooster as a local landmark. Back then the Great Escape was called Storytown.

They have great ice cream, many flavors and the lines are usually long, but worth the wait when you need something cold on a hot day.
