A few years ago I had the chance to meet Hunter Hayes at the CMA Awards. At the time, he was only known as the 'little kid' who sang with Hank Williams, Jr. in a viral YouTube video clip. However, his interview made me appreciate his talent and opened my eyes to the fact that he wasn't just a young pop-country star wanna-be. This young man had the talent and passion to make it in Country Music.

As I talked with Hunter Hayes for the first time, his first single 'Storm Warning' was just issued to country radio, and he was virtually unknown. It didn't take long for people to realize that this teenager was serious about his music and he had the talent to back it up!  A child prodigy, much like former child stars Barbara Mandrell, Brenda Lee, and Alison Krauss, he could play every instrument that passed through his hands, had the respect of his idols and peers, and had the charm to win over a crowd.

Now, a short two years after that first interview, Hunter Hayes is a superstar, and he deserves every bit of success and crystal trophies he can grab along the way. June 13-15, 2013 you'll have a chance to witness this young man's talents at the Taste of Country Music Festival and I'll be curious to know what you think of this hot rising star!

The first ever Taste of Country Music Festival is coming to Hunter Mountain for three days of great country music starting on June 13th, 2013. The lineup features Lady Antebellum, Willie Nelson, Billy Currington, Montgomery Gentry,Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, and many more. Tickets start at $120 and are on sale now.
