A new survey has found the average American family spends $673. Is it me or this seems high?

It's an annual tradition when you are in school, and when you have kids in school: back to school shopping! We know if takes a nice chunk of cash each year to get it done, and according to News 10 a recent survey the average family spends $673.

That seems high to me! Or, maybe it's been a few years since I have participated in school shopping. In a few years when our kids are school age, maybe then it won't seem like a lot.
