Thousands of pounds of a popular canned meat is being recalled. So before you make that delicious ham salad, you better check the expiration date of the main ingredient. According to WIVB, there is a major recall for more than two hundred twenty eight pounds of Hormel Foods canned pork and chicken products. Hormel said that their product may be contaminated with pieces of metal.

According to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service there have been reports of minor oral injuries from consumers who had these products. The recall includes the twelve ounce cans of "Hormel Foods Black Label Luncheon Loaf" and "Spam Classic". The best-buy date is February of 2021. The cans in question were made from February 8th through the 10th of 2018.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service also warn that some of the products could still be in some peoples' homes. If you do have these products, you are urged to either throw them away or return them to the store for a refund.
