Hard to believe it's been 10 years since we first came up with the idea to start "Blue Friday". I have to tell you of all the things I have been a part of in my radio career this event has always been one that I have been the most proud of. Something that started as just an idea to honor the fallen police officers in our area as well as those who currently serve has grown into an organization of it's own, "Blue Friday Of New York",  and a N.Y.S. recognized holiday. I am amazed every year at the support and generosity that our WGNA listeners give to this event. I hope that this year is no exception.

Here is a picture from our yearly trip to the New York Senate where Senator Hugh Farley introduces the legislation to have "Blue Friday" proclaimed a holiday in N.Y.S. Thank You Mr. Farley!

Pictured from L-R in the first row are President Pat Fox, Senator Hugh Farley, and Vice President Lou Somma. The second row is Jake Thomas from WGNA, Sean McMaster from WGNA and Director Tom McGraw.

We kick it all off though this Thursday night at Hooters on Wolf Road in Colonie. Come on down for a Happy Hour/Fund Raiser starting at 5:30 pm.

Enjoy Ice Cold BUD LIGHT DRAUGHTS!!! (proceeds from Bud Light Draughts and a portion of food sales will be donated to Blue Friday of NY).

Blue Friday will be having a raffle, a 50/50 drawing and will be selling our limited edition Blue Friday T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Windshirts & MUCH more.
