Help Still Needed In Schoharie, Believe It Or Not!

How long has it been since the tragedy in Schoharie County? A year?  Maybe it’s “out of sight, out of mind” for some of us, but not if you live there.  A corporation has now been formed to continue the rebuilding efforts, and I wanted to spread the word if I could have a moment of your time, because we can all still help!

Schoharie Recovery was formed in October of 2011 with the following objectives for the area-

1. They want to make sure there is no loss of population after one year

2. They want no loss of net business in a year

3. A goal to make sure that people know that Schoharie in the future will be bigger, better and stronger.

There are still many ways you can help the ongoing efforts there.  If you go to their website: SchoharieRecovery.org, you can make a donation through Paypal or donate gift cards, household items etc.

I had the distinct honor of being asked to come there right after the floods to help create a “We Can Rebuild” song with Schoharie Elementary school children.  If you’d like to hear the song again, it’s available on our website, and I am proud to say that it is also posted on the Schoharie Recovery homepage .  The lyrics have also been reprinted on their pamphlets, which must be as much a thrill for the kids as it is for me to see in print.  Thanks again to all, and good luck in your efforts.
