This spring, you can expect to see a local hotel on a Fox TV show called, “Hotel Hell.”  The Cambridge Hotel is up for a makeover by chef Gordon Ramsay. Filming began Wednesday night.  Meanwhile, the hotel is officially closed for the week.  Any overnight stays and dinning reservations are by invitation only.  The show is very much like Ramsey’s previous shows where he’ll hopefully refurbish the restaurant, redo the menu a bit, and do some yelling at the staff.

A local blogger for Capital Region, Jerry Papandrea, wrote to producers of the show requesting to a reservation.  Papandrea writes about his quests involving food at his website.  Producers accepted his request, and he spent more than two hours at the Cambridge Hotel yesterday.  However, there were no sightings of Ramsay.

No exact screening date has been announced for the Cambridge Hotel episode.  A show representative, Caitlin Rademaekers did say it was likely, though, to be televised in the spring when a five-episode run makes its way to Fox.  Residents of the town are hopeful the show and the publicity will mean big things for Cambridge.
