If you read Lou Roberts' story, you know that today (5/18) is George Strait's 60th Birthday.  Seeing that it is George's special day I thought it would be the right and obvious decision to feature George in this week's edition of Flashback Friday. This week we go back just about 27 years for George's #1 smash and my personal favorite Strait song, "The Chair".

This song was the lead off single off George's 5th studio album "Something Special". The Album was something special as it was the first on the MCA label to be released on Compact Disc. "The Chair" was released in August of 1985, it rose to the top of the country charts later that year to become George's seventh #1 single of his eventual 59 (and possibly more) hits. This was also George's second music video of his career following the video for "You Look So Good In Love".  The production quality of "The Chair" is 10 times better then the latter. I have mentioned many times that it's not often we see George Strait in music videos as he has made less than 20 in his 30+ year musical career.

Happy Birthday to the King of Country Music! Maybe for his 60th year on earth he will get his 60th #1 hit with his latest single "Drinkin Man".
