When George Strait announced his farewell tour, we immediately jumped at the chance to put together a trip.  As you know, through the years, we've hosted lots of awesome country music trips, like the CMA awards in New York, Grand Ole Opry at Carnegie Hall, The ACM awards in Las Vegas, Alabama Farewell, Annie Get Your Gun with Reba, and Dolly's 9 to 5 Musical.  However, this could be one of the most historic events we will ever have the chance to see.

Preferring not to do a bus trip on winter dates in the Northeast, where there is a good chance of bad weather and no refunds for travel complications, we selected the San Antonio, Texas date.  From previous trips to Texas, a vacation on the Riverwalk with country dancing at Cowboys and Midnight Rodeo is worth the trip alone.  However, add in one final chance to see the 'modern' King of Country Music is something that's almost priceless. It also looks like we've picked the best date of the 2013 tour.

A Texas native, this show will be extra special as the final stop on the 2013 leg of the 'Cowboy Rides Away Tour.' In addition, we have received word that this show may have some very extra special 'stuff happening.'  For now, that special 'stuff' is top secret. But one can only speculate that when someone of George's stature is playing the final stop of the 2013 tour, special guests and celebrities will want to be in attendance as well.  Of course, when and if details are released we will let you know.  We can tell you that four time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Martina McBride is confirmed as the opening act on the tour.

Thankfully, through my connections in the music business I have secured seats for the show for GNA listeners.  We know that many of these dates will sell-out within minutes, so don't be left out if you want to witness Country Music history.
