The Recording Academy has announced that Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones will recieve the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in February, 2012.

As one of the most prolific country artists in history, George Jones has had more than 150 hits over his half-century career. From honky tonk to country ballads, he has given the country genre some of it's best loved classics, like 'Why Baby Why' 'The Race Is On' 'A Picture Of Me' 'The Grand Tour' 'White Lightning' 'He Stopped Loving Her Today' and 'Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes.' Jones is a two-time GRAMMY winner, Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and a Kennedy Center Honors recipient. At 80 years old, he continues to tour, playing more than 60 shows each year.  Glen Campbell will also be honored.
