Gas Main Rupture Closed A Section Of A Busy Colonie Road

A construction crew that was working on Route 155 (New Karner Road) in Colonie had a little mishap earlier today, when they accidentally caused a gas line to rupture.

The gas line was hit by a backhoe. That forced a closure of a section of Route 155 between Consaul Road and Waterviet Shaker Road. Some of the office buildings in the area were also evacuated.

According to the story from WNYT, the busy section of road was shut down for about an hour while National Grid worked to shut the gas off.
