'Gangster Squad' -- featuring an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn and Josh Brolin -- hits theaters next week, and we're excited to see one of the most anticipated movies of the new year on the big screen. While Warner Bros. released a number of trailers, posters, images and behind-the-scenes footage to get us all pumped, it's now time to bring on the clips -- six clips in fact!

This film has been long in the making. Originally scheduled for an October 2012 release, 'Gangster Squad' was soon bumped from its spot in favor of Ben Affleck's 'Argo.' Then after the tragic events of 'The Dark Knight Rises' theater shooting, Warner Bros. decided on reshooting certain scenes, thereby giving it a January release. Fortunately, the waiting is coming to an end in a few days time, made evident by the six brand-new clips released by Warner Bros. (via The Playlist).

Referred as the first big mob movie for this generation, 'Gangster Squad' takes place in 1949 LA, where Josh Brolin must put together an elite squad of LAPD outsiders to take down the mob kingpin (Sean Penn) and break his hold over the city. Also featured in the noir flick are Nick Nolte, Michael Peña, Anthony Mackie and Giovanni Ribisi, whose performances can be previewed in the clips below along with the film leads.
