Gallagher “Watermelon Smasher” Recovers From Minor Heart Attack
March 13, 2011 9:27 PM Here’s a guy I haven’t heard about in awhile. Next to the late George Carlin, I always thought he was one of the funniest comedians ever.
He is 64 year old Gallagher. In addition to telling some very funny jokes, he’s known for smashing watermelons with a sledgehammer on stage. In a story from A.P., recently while he was on stage in Minnesota, he collapsed in the middle of his act. Gallagher’s full name is Leo Anthony Gallagher. It was reported that earlier in the evening, Gallagher mentioned that he had problems breathing and a pain in the left arm.
According to Gallagher’s manager, “the comedian is recovering from a minor heart attack.” Gallagher was supposed to have to shows, this past Friday night, but they have been postponed. We’re all hoping the best for Gallagher and of course a speedy recovery to (in my opinion) is a very funny guy.
