The closings of the popular restaurant chain were among several across the Northeast.

Say it ain't so! A dining classic has shut down 2 of it's Capital Region locations. The East Greenbush and Bennington, Vermont Friendly's locations have both closed. The closings were among several Friendly's that have been shut down across the Northeast, according to WMUR. Locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire were also shut down. WMUR is reporting the restaurants were closed because Friendly's reps say their customer experience was lacking. Friendly's is working with employees to transfer them to other locations.

Yes, this is bad news. But the good news is we still have several Friendly's operating here in the Capital Region in Clifton Park,Troy. Saratoga Springs, Johnstown and Queensbury. Let's hope the closings are limited to East Greenbush and Bennington. Friendly's is one of those go to spots we grew up with for a great, affordable meal and great ice cream. Not to mentions I am sure a lot of memories dining there over the years.
