Friday is National Doughnut Day!!

I know there seems to be a day for everything, but this day I am certainly OK with!!

National Doughnut Day is celebrated the first Friday in June every year and some of our favorite doughnut shops are celebrating by giving up FREE doughnuts!!

First, a little history.  National Doughnut day started in 1938.  The Salvation Army used the first National Doughnut Day to raise money for soldiers who were in need after the Great Depression.  During World War I, volunteers from the Salvation Army used soldiers’ helmets to fry the tasty confection for American troops in France.
